Dragon-Carving for Writers
Welcome to Dragon-Carving for Writers, a new project from Wind&Bones in collaboration with Dr Sipei Lu, funded by a Connections Through Culture grant from the British Council.
We’re working with a group of six writers — four from China and two of us from the UK — exploring the riches of the Chinese classic text on literary creativity, the Wenxin diaolong (文心雕龍), or The Literary Heart and the Carving of Dragons.
We’re currently getting things set up here, rearranging the furniture and putting things in place. But we’re immensely excited to be launching this new project, and grateful to the British Council for their funding.
While we are getting set up, have a read of some of the following pieces elsewhere online.
- Need a holiday? Perhaps if you want to write better, you need to get better at bunking off.
- Feeling scholarly? Try this, exploring Liu Xie and Lucretius on creativity.
- Writers are terrible people, except the ones that are not quite so terrible.
